Tomorrow night: Earth to Astronomy
Hi! Been a while, huh? Since I last wrote, I finished the final draft of my book, got my household through 2-3 rounds of stomach bugs, and probably did some other stuff that pales in intensity compared to those two. I'm excited to get back to newslettering, truly, now that those book edits are done. What's ahead? I have no idea! I get to try to remember how to think and write about other things. And I get to spend the next year helping this very large word doc that I'm sending to my editor get turned into a moderately sized book. Publication is looking like April 2023. Don't worry, you will get plenty of reminders.
But in the much, much nearer future: Tomorrow night, March 5, I'm joining the California Academy of Sciences' NightSchool event, Earth to Astronomy, to give a talk about how science and imagination help us learn about other planets. It's drawn from my book, so consider this a sneak preview, with at least one very silly gif. 7pm PT, 10pm ET, yes I am staying up past my bedtime, yes I am going first in the event because of that.
