to Glastonbury and the future
There are a million things I could probably write about here—the back-to-school transition (for me and the preschooler, each amplifying the other’s challenges, or maybe he’s fine, maybe he’s just amplifying mine), the rush of summer that’s somehow “over” even though it’s 95 degrees out, that’s actually honestly all I can think of, which is why I’m not writing an essay right now, I’m lesson-planning and living by my to-do list and writing you this note to tell you about an event I have coming up—
This Saturday the 9th I’ll be reading alongside
and at River Bend Book Shop’s Author Stage at the Glastonbury Arts on the Green festival (in Glastonbury, CT). Our panel is at 12:40, and we’ll be there beforehand to sign books and chat as well.Alllllso a little internet sleuthing found this very exciting and portable paperback to preorder during the B&N 25%-off-preorders sale. Other books I’d recommend: the paperback of The Method by Isaac Butler, which comes out Oct 17, and which is fascinating, rich, and a delightful read; and Splinters, by Leslie Jamison, not out until next February but do future you the favor—nay, give her the gift—of making sure this beautiful, challenging, beating heart of a book is on its way to you as soon as possible.
More soon (which may mean a few months like it did last time)!
