this one's just about my book
First! If you're for some reason in central CT (which is how I feel about living in central CT), come hear me read for the first time from my book on Sunday, 9/11, at the Author Stage at Glastonbury's Arts On The Green Art Show. And then if you're really into me and Glastonbury, come hear me in conversation with Isaac Fitzgerald about his bestselling memoir, Dirtbag, Massachusetts, on 9/16 at Hops on the Hill.
And now. Why bother with preamble, I'll just out and say it: My book has a cover! And you can pre-order it, and you know what, I'd love if you would.
First, the cover:

Isn't she a beauty? I can say that because I didn't design her. The art is by Nibera, and art direction by Sean Kapitain.
I've also gotten some early blurbs from two writers I adore and respect beyond measure, and will brag about those here:
Leslie Jamison: "An utterly gripping, endlessly surprising voyage ... Green’s voice is rigorous, curious, tender, and often rightfully bemused. She is the best company I could imagine for this journey to the limits of what we can imagine, and a thrilling ruminator on what these acts of imagination might teach us about ourselves."
and here's Ed Yong: "Thoughtful, witty, and profound, Jaime Green has crafted a dazzling feat of imagination and synthesis that had me hooked from the first page."
RIP to me.
And now, if those plus however long you've been reading this newsletter have whetted your appetite, of course I'm going to invite you to preorder the book. You can buy it anywhere, but two special deals right now: Barnes and Noble is offering 25% off preorders through Friday with the code PREORDER25, or you can order a signed, personalized copy from my local independent bookstore, River Bend Bookshop.
You can read more about the book and find all sorts of other preorder links here.
Thank you, and I promise this won't be all about book promo for the next seven months. But as it takes over my life, well, let's enjoy it a bit, too.
